      Agnipath Scheme : Indian Navy Begins Recruitment Process | Benefits for ‘Agniveers’ after their Retirement

      The Indian Navy has prepone the date for the Agniveer recruitment calendar to 22nd June 2022 from the earlier proposed date of 25th June 2022.

      The announcement was made by Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Personnel (COP), Indian Navy.

      While making the announcement, Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said that online registrations for the recruitments under the Agnipath scheme will start from 1st July 2022.

      Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi Said :

      “Our recruitment calendar was decided for 25th June 2022, but it will start from, 22nd June 2022. Online registration will start from 1st July 2022 onwards,”

      Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi also stated that the Agniveers, after completing their 4 years of training under the scheme, can directly get into Merchant Navy. “

      As per the Director-General of Shipping Ministry order for Agniveers, after 4 years of training, they can directly get into Merchant Navy”, he added.

      Important Dates

      • 1st July 2022 : The online registration will start for all the candidates.
      • 9th July 2022 : Details notification will be made available.
      • 15th July 2022 – 30th July 2022 : The application window will open for Agniveer 2022 batch
      • Mid-October : Examination and physical tests of the candidates will be conduct.
      • 21st November 2022 : Medical and joining at INS (Indian Navy Ship), Chilka

      Benefits for ‘Agniveers’ after their Retirement

      Though the fire of the movement is burning in different parts of the country against the ‘Agneepath’ scheme, almost every day the ‘Agniveer’ is getting the promise of employment.

      After four years of contractual service in the country’s army, there is a lot of work for Agniveers.

      What have they promise till date. 

      The central government had said that Agniveers will get Rs 30,000-45,000 per month as salary.

      At the end of the four-year contract, 25% of ‘Agniveer’ will be induct into the army.

      The rest will get Rs 11-12 lakh in one lap at the time of retirement.

      Those joining the scheme will not get the benefit of pension.

      Though the movement is intense, the ‘Agniveer’ has given the assurance of employment by the Centre as well as various state governments after retirement under the scheme: 

      1. The union government promise to reserve 10% of posts in the Home and Defence ministries for ‘Agniveers’. 
      2. After a meeting with Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chowdhary on Saturday, Rajnath said 10% of the jobs in the Indian Coast Guard will be reserve for Agniveers.
      3. The same applies to 16 state-own companies in the Ministry of Defence. 
      4. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announce that 10% seats of Agniveers will be reserve in the Central Arm Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles.
      5. The Ministry of Home Affairs also promise that Agniveers will get three more years exemption from the age limit of the scheme to join CAPFS and Assam Rifles.
      6. It has been extend to five years for the first batch of Agniveers. 
      7. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways announce that the inclusion of Agniveers in six service branches, including merchant navy, will be to ensure smooth accession. 
      8. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has promise that efforts will be initiate to rope in technically-capable Agniveers to various uses. 
      9. The National Institute of Open Schooling has announce that it will provide special courses for the Agniveers associate with the project to get class 10th and 12th pass certificates.
      10. This certificate can be use for entering higher education across the country. 
      11. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the idea is to rope in retire Agniveers in all the state-own enterprises under the housing and petroleum ministries. 
      12. The Union Ministry of Education has decide to introduce a three-year special technical educational course at the undergraduate level for Agniveers. 
      13. Apart from various central government ministries, bjp-rule state governments have also made various promises.
      14. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Agniveers will get priority in related work including police in the state. 
      15. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announce that Agniveers will be given priority in jobs. 
      16. The Madhya Pradesh government has announce that after serving in the army, the state police will consider recruiting the Agniveers first.
      17. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announce that those who will spend four years in the scheme will get priority in the recruitment process of the state police.
      18. The Karnataka government has made the same promise. 
      19. Apart from the BJP-ruled government, many industrialists have extend their support to the scheme. Anand Mahindra’s announcement, the deserving and train youth (Agniveers) are welcome to the Mahindra group. 
      20. Almost the same promise has made by industrialist Harsh Goenka tweeted, “The RPG group also welcomes the opportunity to recruit Agniveers.

      Hopefully other corporate bodies will also take this oath and ensure the future of our youth.
