Amazon Increases free grocery delivery for Prime members on orders less than $150 (approx. Rs. 12,200). Customers who get their groceries deliver from Amazon Fresh and pay less than $150, will be charge between $3.95 (approx. Rs. 350) and $9.95 (approx. Rs. 800), depending on the order size, Amazon said in an email to Prime members.
This new policy starts on 28th February 2023.
Amazon Said :
Amazon Prime has more than 200 million members worldwide who pay $139 (approx. Rs. 11,500) a year, or $14.99 (approx. Rs. 1,200) a month, for faster shipping and other perks, such as free delivery and returns.
Currently, Amazon offers members free grocery deliveries on orders above $35 (approx. Rs. 3,000), with the exception of New York, where it’s $50 (approx. Rs. 4,000).
In this new policy, Amazon said delivery charges will be $3.95 for orders between $100-$150, $6.95 (approx. Rs. 600) for orders of $50 to $100, and $9.95 for orders under $50.
As Amazon Fresh deliveries over $150 will remain free.
Amazon spokesperson Lara Hendrickson said in a prepared statement :
Amazon has dozens of Amazon Fresh stores across the US and has open some abroad.
As Amazon has also own Whole Foods since 2017.
This decision to impose new fees comes as the Amazon attempts to trim costs amid a hazy economic environment.
In the past few months, Amazon has axe unprofitable areas of its business and pause hiring among its corporate workforce.
It said this month that it will lay off 18,000 workers.
