      Apple Watch Models Found Guilty of Violating Masimo Oximeter Patent and May Face ITC Import Ban | Details Inside

      Apple Watch Series 6 and later models are facing a new patent crisis. As per the latest lawsuit file in the United States, Apple has use the patent for products that measure oxygen levels in the blood without permission. If the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) finds Masimo justified, the Apple Watch may be ban in the United States.

      A U.S. judge has rule that Apple has infringe on one of Masimo Corp’s pulse oximeter patents by importing and selling certain Apple Watches with light-base pulse oximetry functionality and components.

      The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) will now consider whether to implement an import ban on these Apple Watches.

      Masimo, a medical device maker, claims that Apple had use its own patents without permission.

      Apple has said they respectfully disagree with the decision and look forward to a full review by the Commission.

      The pulse oximeter feature in Apple Watch Series 6 and later models allows the user to track the oxygen levels in their blood.

      As Apple has not yet made an official statement on the matter, it is report that they plan to appeal the case.

      It should be note that the Apple Watch Series 6 and other models have yet to be ban.

      A recent claim has also made that the oxygen level sensor in the Watch is not effective in people with dark skin.

      As per the claim in the case, devices of this type have facing difficulties in measuring blood oxygen levels base on skin color for a long time.
