      Auto Expo 2023 : Hyundai, Tata and Kia Showcased there Electric and Concept Products | Details Inside

      At Auto Expo 2023, The Hyundai Ioniq5 is the company’s first model to be offer on a dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform. Tata dominates the country’s electric vehicle market with sales of 50,000 EVs, and plans to launch 10 electric models by 2026. Kia also said it plans introduce 14 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) into the global market by 2027.

      Hyundai Ioniq5 Electric SUV With 631km Range Launch

      Hyundai Motor launch its first all-electric IONIQ5 SUV at Auto Expo 2023 here.

      The all-electric sports utility vehicle will cover 631 km once it is fully charge.

      Ioniq 5 can be charge from 10%-80% in 18 minutes with a 350 KW DC charger and in 21 minutes with 150KW DV charger, as per statement from Hyundai.

      Ioniq 5 would be price set at Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

      IONIQ5 is the Hyundai’s first model to be offer on a dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform Electric Global Modular Platform, as per the statement.

      The Hyundai adds it has the highest ground clearance of 163mm.

      The SUV has Hyundai SmartSense suite for driver assistance, and it has features like forward collision-avoidance assist, which will continuously scan the front of the vehicle for any potential collisions and driver attention warning, which will defect any driving patterns that are possibly due to a drowsy or inattentive driver.

      When detect, the Ioniq 5 will set off a sound cue as well as a warning message in the instrument panel.

      Unsoo Kim, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hyundai Motor India, Said :

      “Ioniq 5 represents our shift towards future mobility with the tenet that encapsulates intelligent technology, innovation and sustainability. Ioniq 5 will pave the way for the master adoption of electric mobility and building customer confidence towards truly liberating electric mobility solution.”

      As per the statement, Ioniq 5 design has been inspire by Hyundai’s first passenger vehicle Pony.

      This SUV has multi-charging system to reduce waiting times at charging stations.

      Both 800 ultra-rapid and 400 V rapid chargers can be use, Hyundai said.

      Customers can power up electrical appliances like laptop, phones and other devices.

      It offers 72.6 kWh high-voltage battery pack with high-density battery cells and compact battery pack construct, Hyundai said, adding that it comes with six airbags, electric parking brake, all four-disc brakes and powered child lock.

      Tata Unveils 12 Cars, Including 5 Electric Models Along With 14 Trucks

      Tata Motors plans to expand its electric car portfolio with new models and higher price points, its managing director said, as it looks to cement its lead as the top selling electric vehicle (EV) company in India.

      The Tata Motors will also offer a choice of ranges for its EVs so it can address the needs of multiple buyers, including shorter ranges for city use, Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and its EV subsidiary on the sidelines of India’s Auto Expo car show.

      Shailesh Chandra :

      “Customer needs are getting very individualistic. Going ahead we will maintain our growth momentum and work towards further strengthening our portfolio,”.

      Tata showcase 12 cars, including five electric models, and 14 trucks, including ones power by hydrogen fuel cells, as it looks to deepen its clean vehicle push.

      The cars include electric versions of its popular Harrier and Sierra SUVs as well as a concept car based on its new electric vehicle platform, which is expect to be launch in late 2025, Shailesh Chandra said.

      With sales of 50,000 electric cars, Tata dominates India’s EV market, help by government subsidies and high import tariffs, and has outline plans to launch 10 electric models by March 2026.

      India’s car market is tiny compare to its population, with electric models making up just 1% of total car sales of about 3 million a year, but the government wants to grow this to 30 percent by 2030.

      N Chandrasekaran, Tata Motors’ chairman, said :

      “The transition to electric mobility in India will happen much faster than we are imagining. We are confident that we chose the right strategy,”.

      Tata Motors’ pole position has also come from working with other Tata group companies like Tata AutoComp which supplies EV parts like batteries and motors, and Tata Power which is setting up charging stations in cities and along highways.

      The Tata is looking at opportunities to produce and source more parts like battery cells and motors locally and is also studying potential export markets for its electric cars, Shailesh Chandra said.

      Tata, India’s third-largest carmaker, in 2021 raised $1 billion (approx. Rs. 8,165 crore) from TPG for its EV unit at a $9 billion (approx. Rs. 73,500 crore) valuation.

      Shailesh Chandra said it currently has sufficient funds to meet its expansion needs.

      Kia KA4, Kia Concept EV9 Unveiled and Firm Plans to Expand to 220 Cities in 2023

      Multinational automobile manufacturer Kia made a number of announcements at the Auto Expo Show 2023.

      Tae Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India open up about the vision of the automobile company on expanding their business in India.

      Tae Jin Park Said :

      “To make Kia ownership even more convenient, we aim to expand our presence to 220 cities in 2023,”.

      As Tae Jin Park had mention that the vision of Kia was based on three P’s, People, Planet and Profit, before going on to announce that the South Korean automobile manufacturer is planning to ‘introduce 14 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) into the global market by 2027‘.

      Tae Jin Park Said :

      “Among these would be a specially designed Made in India BEV, for emerging markets,”.

      The company unveiled two major ‘future productions from the Kia portfolio‘, the Kia KA4, which was a fourth-generation MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and the concept car Kia EV9.

      Kia also unveiled some Purpose Built Vehicles like the Kia Carens.

      India’s largest biennial spectacle of the automobile industry Auto Expo Show 2023 will open for public during 13th to 18th January, 2023, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

      The 16th edition of the exhibition will explore the industry’s vision of the most advance futuristic green technology for a safer, cleaner, greener, and connect tomorrow, as per statement from SIAM, which organises the event.
