      When we think about fast food, we probably think about McDonald’s. Due to its quick-service burgers and fries, the restaurant has the industry leader since it open its first outlet in 1940.

      There are some very important rules employees have to follow and a few for customers, too.

      Here are all the Golden rules of McDonald’s you need to know about

      Burgers can only sit for 15 minutes.

      According to a former employee, burgers made with “regular” meat get thrown out after 15 minutes, while higher-quality meats get toss after 60 minutes, and chicken nuggets can only sit for 20 minutes.

      To uphold safety and hygiene standards, McDonald’s separates their employees between cashier duties and food preparation duties.

      Employees are given a crew hat and a few crew shirts when they start and are expect to wear black pants with their uniform.

      That means devices can’t be seen, used, or heard during a shift.

      Teens are welcome.

      People as young as 15 years old can work at McDonald’s.

      Some states can even hire 14-year olds but they’ll need to show a work permit.

      Watch your kids on the playground.

      In addition to the sanitary requirements of the play area children must remove their shoes, but keep their socks on, all kids must be supervise by an adult while on the equipment.

      Employees get a well-deserved break.

      A 30-minute break after working 3.5 hours or more.

      Recycle

      McDonald’s wants to help the planet, one recycle paper bag at a time.

      The company set a goal to recycle all guest packaging in 100% of McDonald’s restaurants by 2025.

      Only customers can use the restrooms.
