      ENGvsIND : England-India Abandoned Test to be Played in Edgbaston from 1st July 2022

      The fifth Test between England and India which was postpone after a Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp will now be play in July 2022 at Edgbaston as an agreement between the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

      The ECB also announce that the game has been move to Edgbaston from Manchester and will be part of India’s white-ball tour and the match will be held from 1st July 2022.

      ECB Said :

      “The fifth match of the LV= Insurance Test Series between England Men and India Men has been reschedule and will now take place in July 2022.”

      “With India leading the series 2-1, the concluding fifth match will now take place from July 1, 2022, at Edgbaston, following an agreement between the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India,”.

      ECB also announce :

      “Ticket holders do not have to take any action as all tickets will remain valid for the equivalent rearranged matchday at their host venue.”

      ECB added :

      “Host venues will communicate the new fixture details to ticket purchasers and the options available to them, including the timeframe for requesting a refund if they are not able to attend the new match day,”.

      BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, in an interview to PTI, had made it clear that the reschedule match would be an extension of the series and not a standalone game.

      Sourav Ganguly had Said :

      “We want the series to be completed as this will be our first series win (in England) since 2007,” .

      India were leading 2-1 when the match was call off after the visiting players refuse to step on to the field following positive COVID-19 cases among its support staff, including head coach Ravi Shastri.
