      How to Convert Your Petrol and Diesel Car into an Electric Car

      Rising cost of fuel in India makes the electric vehicle more economical in the long run. But how do you get past the initial huge investment as electric vehicles are undeniably more expensive than the ones that run on diesel and petrol.

      How To Convert Petrol-Diesel Car Into Electric Car?

      There are many companies that can convert your fuel vehicle into an electric one at a cost of around ₹ 4-5 lakh for standard vehicles.

      As per report, the cost can come up to ₹ 4 lakh for a 12 kilo-watt lithium-ion battery and a 20-kilowatt electric motor.

      The price depends entirely on the watt power of the motor and the capacity of batteries that you install.

      Normal cars can be convert into electric cars using motors, controllers, rollers and batteries.

      The cost of your car will depend on how many kilowatt batteries and how many kilowatt motors you get install in your car.

      For a 20-kilo watt electric motor and a 12-kilo watt lithium-ion battery, the cost can come up to Rs 4 lakh.

      What is the Difference in the Cost per KM?

      Tata Nexon has all three options: petrol, diesel and electric.

      Tata Nexon gives a mileage of 16 to 22 kilometres in petrol and diesel.

      If the price of petrol is consider at Rs 100/litre and mileage is consider 16 km/l, the cost of the car, per kilometre, will be about 6.25 paise. 

      And if diesel is consider at Rs 95/litre and mileage is consider 22 km/l, the cost of the car, per kilometre, will be around Rs 4.31 per kilometre.

      Tata Nexon EV, it would have spent 30.2 units of electricity on being full charge and if we consider Rs. 6/unit as the electricity cost then it would cost Rs. 181.2 for getting charge fully and then it would run for about 300km.

      Its cost per kilometre will be close to 60 paise.

      These figures will be almost the same when you convert your normal car into an electric car because when a car is convert into an electric car, then all the electric parts installed in it are also new.

      The cost of using an electric car is much less than that of a petrol-diesel car.
