Indian Air Force (IAF) flew 14 Tejas aircraft in formation for the first time. The fighter jets took off from the Indian Air Force Station in Sulur near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
The Tejas is an Indian fighter jet develop by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy in collaboration with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

Tejas was the outcome of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme that began in the 1980s to replace IAF’s ageing MiG-21 fighters.
The LAC was officially rename as Tejas in 2003.
Tejas is the second supersonic fighter develop by HAL after HF-24 Marut.

The procurement of 73 LCA Tejas Mk-1A fighter aircraft and 10 LCA Tejas Mk-1 Trainer aircraft at the cost of Rs. 45,696 crore with Design and Development of Infrastructure sanctions worth.
