Instagram is gearing up for a kids version of the app for children under the age of 13.

Initial work to make Instagram a safe place for kids has already begun.

In any event a whole new Instagram version just for kids is also reportedly under development.

This service should be similar to YouTube Kids, which largely offers kid-friendly content.

The leaks also suggests that the work on Instagram for Kids will be overseen by Instagram Head Adam Mosseri and Facebook VP Pavni Diwanji.

The latter of whom previously work with Google on YouTube Kids.
