BCCI may allow IPL teams to retain 5 players before the Player Auction later 2024. It is going to be tough for the team managements in the coming months without their Right to Match cards during the auction.
Mega Auctions can be tough for teams that perform well last season.
Many things are going to change in this Mega Auction.
For example, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians may see it as a fresh start and as per the report there are five player retainments and no RTMs, some surprising players might be release by IPL teams.
As Ravichandran Ashwin criticize the RTM option earlier this month,
BCCI was suppose to announce these rules in late August 2024, but it postpone the same because of the mega auctions later 2024.
Teams want to maintain their current balance and aren’t keen on changes.
