The development of the expressway is operate under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, which looks after the maintenance of expressways.
The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari, in his current address to the Rajya Sabha mention the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) for constructing over 1.47 lakh km of road connectivity across India.
Nitin Gadkari also said that NHAI has start building 22 green highways which will be complete by the end of 2024.
