Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath order the suspension of the officials who were prima facie ‘irregular and negligent’ in the fire incident at Hotel Levana in Lucknow which claim four lives on 5th September 2022.
As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, departmental action will be taken against the officers of the Home Department, Energy Department, Appointment Department, Lucknow Development Authority and Excise Department by suspending them.
A spokesperson noted that the UP CM issue the directions after receiving the investigation report of Police Commissioner Lucknow and Divisional Commissioner Lucknow regarding the fire accident.
The officers place under suspension are :
- Shri Sushil Yadav (the then Fire Officer),
- Shri Yogendra Prasad (Fire Officer-II),
- Shri Vijay Kumar Singh (Chief Fire Officer),
- Shri Vijay Kumar Rao (Assistant Director of Energy Department, Electrical Safety),
- Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra (Junior Engineer),
- Shri Rajesh Kumar Mishra (Sub-Divisional Officer),
- Shri Mahendra Kumar Mishra (PCS, Lucknow Development authority).
While, action under applicable rules would be taken against chief fire officer (retire) Abhay Bhan Pandey, LDA executive engineer (retire) Arun Kumar Singh, executive engineer (retire) Om Prakash Mishra and assistant engineer (retire) Ganeshi Dutt Singh.
The report that was turn in the early hours of Saturday noted that officials did not raise a red flag on various violations on the hotel premises, sources said.
