Lucknow’s IPL franchise, own by RPSG Group, will be known as Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. The team owner Sanjiv Goenka made the announcement.

The official IPL team of Lucknow crowdsource its name from its fans and the consumer engagement campaign was launch on social media on 3rd January 2022.
Mr. Goenka share the team name and thank all the fans who participated.

Lucknow Super Giants had announce its three draft picks ahead of the IPL 2022 season which will feature as many as 10 teams.
The Lucknow team pick KL Rahul as their captain and also Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.

Lucknow pick KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore, Marcus Stoinis was pick for Rs 9.2 crore and Ravi Bishnoi was pick for Rs 4 crore.
