      Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 launched in India. This is Xiaomi’s first pair of true wireless earphones in India. The new earphones mark Xiaomi’s entry into a popular product segment that it’s been missing

      The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 launched alongside the Mi Box 4K streaming device and Mi 10 smartphone at the company’s recent online event.

      Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 price is set at Rs. 4,499, The company will be selling the earphones at Rs. 3,999. The limited period promotion will run May 12-May 17. The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 will go on sale starting May 12 at 12pm. The earbuds will be available via Amazon, mi.com, Mi Home stores. These will soon reach the Mi partner stores as well. 

      The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 launched globally in March this year for EUR 80 (roughly Rs. 6,600). India pricing is significantly lower, as Xiaomi looks to compete with Realme in the segment. The Realme Buds Air are price at Rs. 3,999.

      The earphones feature an AirPods-like earpiece design with an outer-ear fit, and 14.2mm drivers. The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 support Bluetooth 5.0, with the SBC, AAC, and LHDC Bluetooth codecs.

      LHDC is a less common competitor to Qualcomm’s aptX and Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codecs, promising high-bitrate audio transmission like other advanced Bluetooth codecs.

      You also get environmental noise cancellation on voice calls with the earphones.

      The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 has 30mAh batteries in the earphones, and an additional 250mAh battery in the charging case. The earphones have touch-sensitive controls for playback and accessing the voice assistant on your smartphone.

      Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri are supported, and the headphones also have optimisation for fast pairing and battery levels on devices running on the upcoming MIUI 12.

      Xiaomi Mi Box 4K

      Xiaomi Mi Box 4K streaming device on 8th May 2020 launched in India, Priced at Rs. 3,499. The Mi Box 4K is a standalone Android TV 9 Pie-power device which plugs into your existing television through HDMI port.

      The device is Wi-Fi enable for connectivity, and gives users access to a variety of apps and services available on Android TV.

      Including popular streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and more.

      Mi Box 4K will go on sale for the first time on May 11 at 12pm on Flipkart, mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Mi Studio stores. It will also soon reach the Xiaomi partner offline stores. Xiaomi has partnered with Docubay, Epic, HoiChoi, and Shemaroo to provide exciting offers to Mi Box 4K buyers. 

      The Mi TV Box 4K is connect to the TV using an included HDMI cable. The device power by a quad-core Amlogic processor, and features 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage for apps.

      Up to 4K streaming on supported content platforms is supported, along with the HDR10 format. The device will capable of playing 4K & HDR content from streaming platforms supporting these formats, like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

      Xiaomi tv run on the company’s PatchWall interface, the Mi Box 4K will only run the stock Android TV interface.

      As the device is being targeted at advanced users who usually know what they’re looking for,

      PatchWall’s content discovery-based features move out of this device.

      Users will get additional connectivity on the Mi Box 4K through a USB port and 3.5mm digital out socket, as well as Bluetooth to connect headphones or wireless speakers for sound.

      The presence of USB port allows the device to be use as local media player, there is wide support for various video and audio file formats. There is also built-in Chromecast Ultra on the device, allowing users to cast content at up to 4K resolution.

      Xiaomi is counting on users relying on the familiarity of the Android TV interface and apps, as well as the ease of setup and synchronisation with Android mobile devices and Google accounts.

      The lack of support for Dolby Vision content on the Mi Box 4K is a major drawback,

      Netflix now has a considerable catalogue of content available in the format in India.

      But the Mi Box 4K has the advantage of being an affordable 4K streaming device.
