Navratri 2022 or Shardiya Navratri is coming and the devotees are patiently waiting to celebrate it. As per the Hindu calendar, Navratri is celebrated four times a year.
But Shardiya Navratri and Chaitra Navratri have great importance.
Many people worship Goddess Durga by keeping a fast for nine whole days to get her blessing.
And some worship Maa Durga by eating food only once a day.
In 2022 Shardiya Navratri festival’s nine-day worship of Goddess Durga going to start from 26th September 2022 and last till 5th October 2022.
It is believe that during these nine days dedicate to Maa Durga and whoever worships her with true heart and devotion, will find peace, happiness, and prosperity since the goddess takes away all their troubles.
The final day of the festival is called ‘Vijayadashami’ or ‘Dussehra’ which falls on 5th October 2022 when Maa Durga is said to leave Earth and return to heaven.

Nine Bhogs offer to the Goddess
It is that time of the year when Goddess Durga manifests in different forms for nine days.
People observe fasts, meditate, consume sattvik food, perform puja, offer divine bhogs with special ingredients and dress up in specific colours.
Spanning nine nights and 10 days, it culminates on Vijaya Dashami, which signifies the triumph of Mahishashura Mardini.
First Day
Pratipada : Devi worship on this day is Shailputri, the daughter of the lofty mountain Himalayas.
Bhog
To get rid of ailments, it is advise to offer pure clarified butter (ghee) to Devi Shailputri.
Bhog preparation should include loads of ghee.
Generally, halwa, with a sprinkle of cardamom powder and dryfruits garnish, is prepare.
Second Day
Dwitiya : Devi takes the form of bare-footed Brahmacharini, holding a rudraksha garland and a sacred kamandala in her hands, to exterminate evil.

On this day Her blessings are sought for a long life by offering fruits and mithais.
Third day
Tritiya : Devotees invoke the divine energy of the 10-armed Goddess Chandraghanta with a half-moon on her forehead.
She comes riding a tiger to rid the earth of evil.

To pacify the anger and aggressiveness of the Devi, who is known to alleviate pains, a calming milk-dense offering like payasam or kheer is recommended.
Make it flavoursome with cardamom powder, saffron with a sprinkle of dryfruits.
Fourth day
Chaturthi : Devi is worship on this day as the creator of the Universe, in the name of Devi Kushmanda.
She rules the intellectual acumen and analysing capacity.

To get the desire results of Her blessings in this sphere, if possible, it is advise to observe a fast.
Nothing else will appease her as an offering of malpua, a deep fried pancake-like mithai prepared with refine flour, douse in sugar syrup.
Fifth day
Panchami : With baby Kartik on her lap, she is refer to as Skandmata, another name for Kartikeya is Skanda.
She symbolises Mother Nature with four arms, sitting on a lotus flower.
Bhog
She confers salvation, shakti and prosperity to those who pray to her with full faith and belief while offering banana.
Any sweet dish made with bananas can be prepare as bhog on this day.
Sixth day
Shahsti : On this day, she is the warrior deity call as Devi Katyayani or Mahishasura Mardini.

This avatar is worship by girls for early marriage.
To fulfil this desire, girls in the Northern states offer meetha paan as prasad with honey as the main ingredient.
Seventh day
Saptami : When the Goddess comes in a dark complexioned skin astride a donkey, with four arms carrying a sword, a trident and a lasso, she is known as Devi Kaalratri.
It is believe that she contain the whole cosmos in the third eye on her forehead.
Bhog
Remover of obstacles and pain, she relishes the prasad made with jaggery or gur.
Sharkara Pongal or sweet appams in the South, halwa-puri in the other parts of the country along with chana are prepared.
Pre-pubescent girls are invite and this bhog is distribute among them.
Eighth day
Durga Ashtami : Also known as Goddess Chandi or Chamundeshwari, Shakti rides a white tusker, holding a damru and a trident in her hands.

Coconut pleases this avatar the most.
Nariyal pak or any coconut-based sweet dish should be offer to her for bliss and a streak of good luck.
Ninth day
Navami : The Devi dons the avatar of Siddhidatri, known for her purity and compassionate nature.
The day is observe as Saraswati puja when books and instruments are venerate at her altar.

Devotees seek security and shelter from unforeseen mishaps.
Sesame ladoos or any offering made of sesame seeds and gur are prepare as naivedhya for her protection.
Navratri witnesses loads of celebrations and fasts during this period.
People observing fast perform special poojas and havans to worship Goddess Durga and welcome her to their homes.
Fasts are just a way of demonstrating their devotion to Maa Durga and her nine incarnations.
It is advise to avoid every kind of fast food and artificial foods during Navratri fasts.
Those observing fast are suggest to avoid having lentils, pulses, corn flour, all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour and semolina or rava/sooji too.
Aloo chaat
You can make the falahari version of aloo chaat.
All you have to do is to add rock salt, black pepper and imli chutney to the golden fried potatoes.
Papdi Chaat
You can simply make your own falahari papdi chaat at home.
To make it fats friendly, use Rajgeera flour, kuttu flour or Singhaada flour to make the papdi rather than plain flour.
Garnish these papdi with some curd, homemade imli chutney and dhaniya pudina chutney.
To add the final touch, add rock salt and black pepper and some pomegranate seeds.
Vrat wala Samosa
Instead of making Samosa the usual, try using the Singhara atta or water chestnut flour is use to make this recipe at your home.
It would be vrat friendly and yummier in taste.
Fruits and Peanut Chaat
If you are observing fast, you cannot avoid eating fruits and dairy products.
Make your own version of fruit chaat by using apples. grapes, pomegranate and other fruits.
Add some rock salt and black pepper and mix them well with the fruits.
You can also add peanuts to it.
Falahari Golgappe
In Navratri, try falahari golgappe at home as ingredients you need include Samak rice flour and singhara ka atta.
For the filling, take some boiled potatoes, rock salt, black pepper and some red chilly powder.
To add a little more punch, add curd, imli chutney and dhaniya pudina chutney.
