      New Ola S1 Electric Scooter Launched in India | Ola Electric Car to come in 2024 | Details Inside

      Ola S1 launch its second electric scooter in India. The Ola scooter was first announce by the company in 2021, and is a more affordable version of the Ola S1 Pro.

      The Ola S1 has a battery capacity of 3KWh and has a top speed of 95kmph. It offers an ARAI range of 141km and normal range of 101km, according to the company.

      This Ola electric scooter also comes with software features like music, navigation, a companion app, reverse mode, and will support updates into MoveOS 3, which will be launch in Diwali and beyond.

      At a virtual event Ola also announce that it will launch its first electric car in 2024.

      Ola says that its first electric four-wheeler will go from 0-100kmph within 4 seconds and will have a range of over 500km on a single charge.

      It is also claim to deliver a drag coefficient of less than 0.21 and will feature a glass roof. 

      Ola says that the vehicle will also support assist driving and feature keyless and handle-less doors.

      Ola also announce a new Khaki Green colour option for the Ola S1 Pro.

      The Ola will produce 1947 units of the limited-edition scooter, which will be price at Rs. 1,49,999.

      The ‘Freedom Edition’ Ola S1 Pro will be available for purchase via the Ola app.

      Price in India

      Ola S1 price set at Rs. 99,999, which is introductory ex-showroom price, including FAME II subsidy and excludes state subsidies, according to the company.

      The Ola S1 will be available in Coral Glam, Jet Black, Liquid Silver, Neo Mint, and Porcelain White colour options.

      Reservations for the Ola S1 begin from 15th August, 2022 at Rs. 499, and customers who avail of the early access offer will be able to make the final payment on 1st September 2022.

      Sales for the Ola S1 will begin on 2nd September 2022, and deliveries will begin on 7th September 2022.

      Buyers can also avail of EMI offers starting at Rs. 2,999, with a loan processing fee waiver, according to Ola.

      Specifications

      The Ola S1 has an Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certified range of 141km, and a true range of 101km on normal mode, 128km on Eco mode, and 90km on sports mode.

      Ola S1 scooter is equip with a 3KWh lithium-ion battery pack, and offers a top speed of 95kmph with support for a cruise mode and a reverse mode.

      The Ola S1 is equip with safety features including an anti-theft alert system and geo fencing.

      Ola S1 scooter will come with a battery which is claim to be flame retardant and water and dust resistant.

      The Ola S1 comes with front and rear disc brakes and a ‘hill hold’ feature that is design to make riding in traffic and navigating inclines easy.

      Ola S1 is equip with 110/70 R12 tyres, rear mono-shock suspension, and front single fork suspension.

      The Ola S1 runs on MoveOS 2, which offers features navigation, music playback, companion app, and reverse mode.

      The Ola S1 electric scooter, like the Ola S1 Pro, will receive an update to MoveOS 3 around Diwali, which will add new features including moods, digital key sharing, proximity unlock, improve regen braking, and a document feature, as per the company.

      Ola shows Glimpses Of Its First Electric Car Due To Arrive In 2024

      The Ola Electric is a big part of India’s current shift towards electric mobility and it has big plans to join the four-wheeler space as well.

      Ola release more information about its upcoming model which is set to be the sportiest Indian car yet with a claimed range of over 500km. 

      Based on the digital teasers shown, Ola EV seems to have a crossover-like design with decent ground clearance and a coupe-esque glass roof.

      Ola EV overall shape is said to have a drag coefficient (Cd) value of less than 0.21 which should offer an aerodynamic efficiency similar to Tesla Model 3.

      The Ola also reveale that not only will its electric car have keyless entry, but it will not even get door handles.

      It is not yet known what mechanism and design will be use instead of handles.

      While Ola has not reveale any of the specifications of the EV, like battery size or electric motor output, this sporty EV aims to complete the 0-100kmph sprint in 4 seconds.

      Ola EV will feature Ola’s own MoveOS software for its various technology-based features and ADAS. 

      And Ola EV has the slim LED headlamps with the light strip across the front end, and the sportily-style rear end with an unbroken strip of LED taillight across it.

      Ola EV will get the smoothly sculpt front bumper with air curtains and the contrasting black rear bumper with horizontal slats.

      The only teaser for the interior was a large, tablet-like central display and rear seats that seem to be recline for comfort.

      The glass roof runs into the rear windscreen for a notchback like design.

      Ola has plans to upscale its local production and development of EVs and batteries at the FutureFactory.

      It intends to have a production capacity of 10 lakh cars from its four-wheeler EV manufacturing facility by 2026-27.

      Ola intends to build six different cars at this factory based on two different platforms.

      The first of these Ola EVs is set to arrive in 2024 and it will be aim at markets outside of India as well.

      At nearly 100% localisation Ola EV long-range EV could be price at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) as hint by Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric.

      Ola EV : 500 km Range | 0-100 in 4 Seconds

      During a company live stream on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence day, founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announce that the company would launch a car with a range of 500 kilometres and that it will be the “sportiest car built in India.”

      Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric Said :

      “We deserve a car that defines this new India. An India that is fearless and believes in writing its own destiny. Our car is going to be one of the fastest cars in India. 0 to 100 within 4 seconds, it will have a range of more than 500 kilometres per charge. It will be the sportiest car ever built in India, with an all-glass roof, it will have Move OS and assisted driving capabilities as good as any other car in the world. It will be keyless and handleless,”.

      Bhavish Aggarwal added that the car will feature an all-glass roof, keyless entry and a “handleless design.”

      The new car will be manufacture at Ola’s future factory in Tamil Nadu, which will be expand in order to accommodate new manufacturing capabilities.

      With the car and the scooter, Ola says it will also manufacture its own indigenously develop electric cells at the same facility.
