From childhood, Nitasha Biswas, winner of the first beauty pageant for transgenders in India, knew she was different than the others. Whether it was at home or in school, Nitasha recall being ask to do things boys were made to do that she had no interest in.
In school, Nitasha Biswas would lock herself in the bathroom when she was force to play football on the field.

Born as Suvanko to a Kolkata family, Nitasha Biswas lost her mother at the age of 6.

But the first time Nitasha Biswas spoke about her feelings to her brother, he ignore them.
Nitasha Biswas Said “No, this is wrong,” was her father’s response to opening up about herself. “He couldn’t accept it,”.
After a tumultuous childhood, Nitasha Biswas finally change her “identity” when she came to Delhi.
This transformation phase was complex.
When the treatment began, Nitasha Biswas said that it was difficult.

At work, Nitasha Biswas face discrimination in the office.
Nitasha Biswas recall going to a party with a group of friends, who didn’t know who she was earlier.
But they end up treating her differently when they finally learnt she was a trans woman.
Nitasha Biswas recount the first time she went home after her transformation when her father was ill.
As this was the first time she met her family after treatment.
To her surprise, Nitasha Biswas receive the best compliment ever.
When her aunt ask her to remove her mask so she could see her face, Nitasha Biswas reveal that everyone thought she was a reflection of her mother.
When it comes to bringing real change in society, Nitasha Biswas said that discrimination can only end when it starts with school education.

In 2017, Nitasha Biswas won the Miss Trans Queen India beauty pageant and sees herself becoming a politician some day.
