Prime Minister Narendra Modi launch the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The Prime Minister said that this mission will provide a digital health ID to the people who will hold their health records.
This pilot project of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission had been announce by the Prime Minister from the Red Fort on 15th August 2020.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is being implemented in the pilot phase in six union territories.
What is Digital Health ID?
According to the official website of National Health Authority using a Health ID is the first step towards creating safer and efficient digital health records for a person and his or her family.
You can opt-in to create a digitally secure Health ID which allows the person to access and share the health data with his or her consent with participating healthcare providers and payers.
You must note that anyone who wishes to participate in Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and have their health records available digitally must start by creating a Health ID.
Health ID is a randomly generated 14 digit number use for the purposes of uniquely identifying persons, authenticating them, and threading their health records (only with their informed consent) across multiple systems and stakeholders.
How to Register for Health ID?
You can get a Health ID by self-registration on the Health ID web portal or by downloading Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Health Records application from the Google Playstore as per the National Health Authority website.
An interested individual can also request for creation of your Health ID at a participating health facility which may include public/private hospitals, community health centre, health and wellness centres across India.
Documents for Health ID?
For Health ID creation through Mobile Number you need to give your Name, Year of Birth, Gender, Address, Mobile Number.
For Health ID creation through Aadhaar you have to enter Name, Year of Birth, Gender, Address, Mobile Number, Aadhaar Number.
Is Aadhaar mandatory for creating Health ID?
The process of generation of Health ID involves voluntary usage of Aadhaar.
If you does not want to use your Aadhaar for Health ID creation then you can simply use your mobile number accompanied with self-declared information.
