BCCI has increase the number of referrals per innings from one to two for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The DRS change is among the few changes to the playing conditions that will be implement during the season.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season is set to get underway in Mumbai on 26th March 2022.
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium.
The T20 league is set to feature 10 teams once again with Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans being the new additions.
TATA IPL 2022 will also see some major rule changes with regards to DRS, COVID-19 allowances for the teams and the newly-introduced MCC laws.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could also make a few changes with regards to the latest MCC laws in the gentlemen’s game.
TATA IPL 2022 Rule Changes
The number of unsuccessful Decision Review System (DRS) attempts per side also increase.
As per reports, the upcoming IPL 2022 season will witness the number of unsuccessful DRS reviews go up to two attempts per innings to each side.
Earlier, only one DRS review was allow to IPL teams.
If a team is unable to field a playing XI due to covid-outbreak in the camp, the fixture will be reschedule to a later date.
If there’s an issue in doing the same, then the final decision will be taken by IPL’s technical committee.
Another interesting development is that in the playoffs/final if a game cannot be conclude via the super-over the team which had finished higher in the league phase will be declare victorious.
