WhatsApp may soon call you to verify your account with a new method called flash calls. After you switch to this method then you will no longer have to manually enter the 6-digit verification code that is sent by an SMS.
It is still under development but could become available in a future update.
Truecaller already uses this method to automatically verify your account.
If you choose the Flash Call verification method then WhatsApp will require permission to make and manage calls and also access your call logs.
You can choose to receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS.
WhatsApp automatically detects and verifies your account via this method as well.
Flash Calls feature was spot by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, in the latest beta version of the Android app.
