As you all know 5G was launch in India in October 2022. Airtel and Jio start rolling out the 5th generation cellular network in the same month. Both telecoms continue to expand their 5G circle across India. So, apart from Airtel and Jio, Vodafone Idea (Vi) is the only private telecom yet to roll out 5G services in India.
But now Vi and Xiaomi India has announce a strategic partnership to provide 5G connectivity on the smartphones when the 5G services are launch by the Vodafone Idea.
As of now 18 devices under the Xiaomi and Redmi portfolio are said to be extensively test on Vi 5G network in New Delhi.
Xiaomi said that the phones will support the network post-FOTA updates.
When Vi launches 5G commercially, Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone users will just have to toggle their network connectivity settings from 4G to 5G.
