Artificial intelligence (AI) is talk of the town right now, and the world of video production is no exception any more as one of the example is OpenAI’s SORA which can generate good quality of realistic videos.
As AI-generated video is still in its early days and needs time to develop.
But there’s an interesting development as TCL is gearing up to debut a film featuring characters created using Artificial intelligence (AI)
TCL is a television manufacturer in China and the world’s second-largest producer of TV sets, holding a 12.5% market share.
As TCL ships its TVs with TCLtvPlus streaming service, a free, ad-support service same as the Samsung TV Plus.
TCLtvPlus streaming service includes more than 200 FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channels and 1500+ on-demand movies and TV series from major and independent studios like Scripps Media, Fremantle, NBC Universal, and many more.
But Now TCLtvPlus will also feature original shows that leverage AI for tasks such as animating characters.
TCL has release the trailer for its first AI-assisted romantic film, “Next Stop Paris,” featuring AI-generated characters.
As the quality is noticeably different from big-budget Hollywood productions.
As there is room for improvement.
But still TCL has manage to keep things like lighting and fabric details and there are no glaring issues with hand movements.
As it’s worth noting that TCL is combining AI animation with motion and audio capture of real actors for the movie.
So not everything’s AI here.
AI cannot independently produce feature-length films of the quality expect by audiences.
But yes, future advancements could give the way for streaming services to generate entirely AI-driven content
