      Dussehra 2023: Date, Time, Shubha Muhurat, Shubha Yoga and Rituals Of Ravana Dahan | Details Inside

      This year we will celebrate Dussehra on 23rd October, 2023, the day Lord Ram kill Ravana. It symbolises the victory of good over evil and is celebrate across India with huge fervour and enthusiasm.

      Ramleela processions are carry out in various cities, large statues of Ravana, his son Meghnad, and brother Kumbhakaran are erect in open grounds.

      Kids or adults playing Lord Ram in Ramleela are often task with shooting an arrow at the statues, and they burn into flames. 

      Date and Time of Dussehra 2023

      Auspicious time to celebrate Dussehra will begin on 23rd October, 2023, at 05.44 pm.

      It will continue till 24th October, 2024, at 03.14 pm.

      So, people will celebrate Dussehra for two days. 

      Shubh Muhurat of Dussehra 2023

      The shubh muhurat for this puja is on 24th October, 2023, at 01.58 pm. and will remain auspicious till 02.43 pm. 

      Shubh Muhurat of Ravana Dahan or Dussehra Dahan

      Auspicious time to burn statues of Ravana is on 24th October, 2023, at 5.43 pm.

      The shubh muhurat is count 2.5 hours from sunset.

      So, Dussehra or Ravana dahan will take place on the evening of 23rd October, 2023, in most of the places.

      Shubha Yoga of Dussehra 2023

      There are two auspicious yog for Dussehra 20023.

      There are:

      • Ravi Yoga : This will begin at 6.27 am on 24th October, 2023, and continue till 3.30 pm.
      • Second Ravi Yog : The second shubh yog will begin at 6.38 pm on 24th October, 2023, and continue till 6.28 am on 25th October, 2023.
      • Prosperity (Vridhi) Yog : This yog will begin at 3.40 pm and continue throughout the night of 24th October, 2023.

      Rituals of Dussehra Puja

      The astrologer said that on the day of Dussehra, you should take a bath early in the morning.

      This period is refer to as Brahma Muhurat.

      It starts one hour 26 minutes before the sunrise and continues 48 minutes after the sunrise.

      It is believe that any holy activity that happens around this time bears fruitful results for people who perform it or participate in it. 

      The expert also suggest making a statue of Ravana using lime or wheat grains.

      It will be follow by creating nine spheres and two bowls using cow dung.

      You should keep coins in one bowl and kumkum (roli or red powder), barley grains, rice grains, and fruits in another bowl. 

      You should offer barley, banana, radish, and jaggery to Ravana’s idol.

      If you worship ammunition, weapons, and tools on this day, you should add them as well to the offerings. 

      This ritual is follow by a donation of food or any other thing based on your financial condition.

      Following the Ravana Dahan, you should offer leaves of the Shami tree or jand plant to your elders, touch their feet, and seek their blessings.
