      Amazon India Users Now Shop in Bengali, Marathi and Hindi Voice Shopping Experience

      Amazon announce Bengali and Marathi for shopping on its e-commerce website. With this new addons Amazon has starts supporting a total of seven Indian languages as Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.

      Amazon also announce the addition of Hindi to its voice-base shopping experience that it launch in English last year.

      This announcements come just before the shopping season in the country and a few days before the launch of Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale.

      Users can switch to any of the Indian languages by going to Country & Language settings from the Amazon app or its website.

      Demand to add the support for Marathi on Amazon was sked by Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

      Amazon at that time had promised to bring support for the language “soon.”

      Amazon to bring Hindi support to its voice-based experience as an extension to the English.

      It will allow users to use their voice in Hindi to search for products or check their order status.

      The features are still for Android users as Amazon sees Android domination on its customer base.

      iOS version of the voice-based shopping experience is in the progress and would soon be available.

      Amazon is also working on bringing the experience in more Indian languages over time.

      The Amazon claimed that customers using voice shopping experience in English grew two times year-over-year.

      Amazon didn’t provide any details on number of consumers buying goods online using the advanced experience.
