India menās and womenās cricket teams have assure of direct quarter-final berths at the Asian Games 2023, which will be play in Hangzhou, China. The matches in the Asian Games have given T20I status and the quarter-final berths have given to the top 4 teams in the region, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as in ICC T20I rankings as of 1st June 2023.
Womenās cricket will be play from 19th to 26th September 2023 and menās cricket will be play from 28th September 2023 to 7th October 2023.
A total of 18 teams will compete in menās cricket event and 14 teams compete in the womenās cricket event at the Asian Games.
The Zhejiang University of Technology Cricket Field, Hangzhou will host the matches in the Asian Games.
Indian women will be in action in the quarter-final on 22nd September 2023.
If they qualify for the semi-final, the match will be play on 25th September 2023.
The gold medal match and the bronze medal match will be play on 26th September 2023.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who was pick as the captain of the full-strength womenās team, can play in the Asian Games only if India reaches the final as she was given a 2-match ban over her outburst at umpires during an ODI in Bangladesh in July.
Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead a second-string India menās team at the Asian Games as the first-choice players will be in action at the ODI World Cup, starting from 5th October 2023.
If the Indian menās cricket team qualifies for the final, it will have to play on three successive days, 5th October 2023 (quarter-final), 6th October 2023 (semi-final), and 7th October 2023 (final).

The India menās cricket team team includes talented players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul Tripathi, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh. Other notable members include Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi, and Shivam Dube.
Prabhsimran Singh serves as the secondary wicketkeeping option.
Standby players include Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, and Sai Sudarsan.
While the womenās side, the team will be captain by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana serving as vice-captain.

This will be the first time Indian cricket teams will compete in the Asian Games.
Cricket was held in the 2010 and 2014 edtions of the Asian Games but the Indian cricket board (BCCI) did not send their teams both times.
