World Cup 2023 : List Of Records Rohit Sharma Can Break In India vs Netherlands Match

In the highly anticipated clash between India and Netherlands in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, cricket fans worldwide are eagerly watching Rohit Sharma, the prolific Indian opener, with anticipation.

Known for his ability to dominate the opposition bowlers, Rohit Sharma is poise to make a significant impact and possibly etch his name in the record books once again.

Rohit Sharma, having participate in 24 ODI matches in 2023, has successfully hit 58 sixes, placing him jointly at the top of the list for batters with the most sixes in ODIs within a calendar year.

To break Ab de Villiers’ all-time record (58 sixes in 20 ODIs during 2015), Rohit Sharma requires just one more maximum.

Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most sixes in ODI World Cup matches, having struck 45 sixes in 25 games throughout his career.

If he hits five more sixes against the Netherlands on Sunday, he will surpass the all-time record of 49 sixes in ODI World Cup matches, currently held by former West Indies opener Chris Gayle.

Rohit Sharma is poise to become the second Indian, after Sachin Tendulkar, to score 500+ runs in two ODI World Cups.

Currently at 442 runs in the ongoing World Cup 2023, he needs just 58 more to achieve this feat.

Sachin Tendulkar achieve this milestone with 523 runs in 1996 and 673 runs in 2003.

Rohit Sharma had previously score 648 runs in the 2019 ODI World Cup.

The current record for the highest run-scorer among Indian captains in a single edition of the ODI World Cup belongs to Sourav Ganguly (465 runs in 11 matches during 2003 ODI World Cup).

Rohit Sharma (442 runs) requires an additional 24 runs to surpass Sourav Ganguly’s record.

If India triumph over the Netherlands on Sunday, Rohit Sharma will achieve a remarkable feat by becoming the first Indian captain to secure nine consecutive victories in a single edition of the ODI World Cup.

Rohit Sharma will be in contention to set a new record as the fastest batsman to reach 1500 runs in the ODI World Cup.

Currently, four players have surpass this milestone.

If Rohit Sharma scores 80 runs against the Netherlands, he will not only join this elite group but also achieve the feat in the fewest innings, completing it in just 26 innings.

If Rohit Sharma achieve a century against the Netherlands on Sunday, he will join the ranks of Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar as the third batter to score an ODI century against all 11 teams throughout his ODI career.
