As part of the reshuffling, Jianchang Mao, vice president of engineering for Google Assistant, who report directly to Sissie Hsiao, is leaving the company for “personal reasons”.
He will be replace by Peeyush Ranjan, the former vice president of Google’s commerce organization.
And, Amar Subramanya, Google Assistant engineering vice president, is now leading the engineering efforts for the Bard team.
Trevor Strohman, who was previously in charge of leading these engineering efforts, will continue as an “Area Tech Lead” for Google Bard.
The restructuring and increase focus on Bard underscore the growing importance of AI and chatbots in today’s technology landscape.
