After record-breaking viewership by Disney-Star in IPL 2023, Disney+ Hotstar have decide to lift the paywall for their mobile users specifically for these two tournaments.
With this, more than 540 million mobile users across India will now have access to watch Asia Cup and ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup for free, as per the company.

According to the official release, the decision to make Disney+ Hotstar free is aim at ‘democratizing the game of cricket’.
Disney-Star also plans at making both cricket and Disney+ Hotstar, the streaming platform, more accessible to as many mobile users in India as possible.

Till now, the platform has gain massive viewership for many games like Asia Cup 2022, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, and even the recently conclude India vs Sri Lanka series earlier this year.

While, the ICC intends to publish a full schedule for the men’s 2023 ODI World Cup ‘as soon as we possibly can’, according to their chief executive, Geoff Allardice.
This time the tournament host by India is expect to start in four months time, with venues and fixtures still not confirm.
The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is going to take place from 5th October to 19th November, 2023 while Asia Cup 2023 is suppose to take place from 2nd to 17th September 2023.
