BJP pick Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav as the new chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. He will be nesxt after four-time CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This decision was taken at the BJP’s legislature party meeting in Bhopal in the presence of the three central observers, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, OBC Morcha head K Laxman and secretary Asha Lakra.
Outgoing finance minister and two time MLA Jagdish Devda from Mandsaur and outgoing public relation minister MLA Rajendra Shukla from Rewa have elect as deputy chief ministers.
Ex-union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar has elect as the speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
Many BJP supporters who had gather outside the venue of the meeting of newly-elect MLAs told that they hadn’t expect Mohan Yadav to get the top seat in MP.
Who is Mohan Yadav?
Mohan Yadav is a three-time MLA from the Ujjain South constituency in Madhya Pradesh. In the recent elections, he retain his seat by defeating his Congress rival Chetan Premnarayan Yadav by approx. 13,000 votes.
He has serve as the education minister in the Shivraj Chouhan government. The MP CM-designate became MLA for the first time in 2013 from Ujjain South.
The Ujjain South constituency, which is part of the Malwa North region and falls under the Ujjain Lok Sabha constituency, has a stronghold of the BJP since 2003.
Earlier this month, the BJP score a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh by winning 166 seats.
Mohan Yadav father’s name is Poonamchand Yadav. He is married to Seema Yadav. Both have two sons and a daughter. Mohan Yadav has many educational degrees including BSc, LLB, MA, MBA and PhD.
Mohan Yadav comes from the other backward class. With his appointment, the BJP hopes to woo the OBC community which forms over half the electorate in Madhya Pradesh.
Mohan Yadav enjoys a clean image and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s backing ans also he is active in the state’s wrestling associations.
