      Report: Ishan Kishan Declines BCCI’s Test Series Offer, Misses Out on Central Contract Benefits Alongside Shreyas Iyer

      Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan not include in BCCI’s annual retainers after the two repeatedly ignore the Indian cricket board’s orders to participate in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.

      But, it seems that around the time BCCI secretary Jay Shah sent a letter to centrally contract players not to prioritise the IPL over domestic cricket, Ishan Kishan was given a shot at redemption by the BCCI before Dhruv Jurel capitalise on his absence to carve out a heroic performance in Ranchi and help India claim the 5-match Test series vs England.

      Ishan Kishan last play for India in November 2023, in the home T20I series against Australia.

      In December 2023, midway through the tour of South Africa, Ishan Kishan pull out, reportedly citing mental health fatigue.

      Ishan Kishan thereafter miss the T20I contest against Afghanistan at home before discussion began over his possible return during the England Test series with the management not eager to continue with KL Rahul as their wicketkeeper-batter on spinning tracks.

      When Ishan Kishan was not pick for the series, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid explain that the youngster need to make himself available first and that he ought to show some game time to prove his eligibility.

      What Benefits Will Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer Miss Out After Losing BCCI Central Contracts?

      As BCCI have recently announce the list of players who will receive the central contracts for the 2023-24 season.

      Many players have awarded contracts for the first time, a total of 7 players have exclude from he list.

      The two biggest names to miss out from the list are Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer.

      They both will miss out on a number of privileges after missing out on the contract.

      As per report, players who are part of the central contracts are divide into 4 categories- A+, A, B and C, will receive a fix amount according to their categories in addition to the match fees they would receive after each match.

      But, players who are not in the BCCI Central Contract list will get only their match fees according to the number of matches they play.

      Also, the centrally contract players are allow to use the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru whenever they want.

      But, players who are not contract centrally like Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan will only be able to use the facilities if they receive permission from their respective state authorities.

      The centrally contract players also get medical insurance, which the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan will miss out on.

      Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer repeatedly skip Ranji Trophy matches despite the diktat from the highest quarters of the BCCI including secretary Jay Shah.

      Ishan Kishan was seen training with Hardik Pandya, his Mumbai Indians captain, in Baroda, while he did not make himself available for the Jharkhand side for the Ranji Trophy.

      As per the report, the selectors, who make the recommendation for the contracts were not happy with this.

      Shreyas Iyer, declare himself injure and did not make himself available for Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy quarter-final.

      But, the NCA said that he was fit to play, and he was seen taking part in Kolkata Knight Riders’ pre-season camp.

      The selectors were miffed at this too.
