      IPL 2024 Auction: Everything Which You Need to Know About 17th Edition of the Indian Premier League

      The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as per reports is schedule to take place in 2024 from March to May window. Before the tournament, all ten franchises will have the opportunity to revamp their squads via an auction.

      This will be a mini auction, which allow teams to retain most of their players from the previous season while making additions in areas they deem necessary.

      Teams can also choose to release most of their players, but it’s unlikely they will find suitable replacements in a mini auction.

      Many players, like Ambati Rayudu, have announce their retirement, while others like Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Alex Hales, and many more, could potentially be available for purchase by IPL franchises at the auction.

      When and where will the IPL 2024 Auction take Place?

      IPL Auction for 2024, is a mini auction, is set to occur overseas in Dubai on 19th December, 2023.

      The exact venue for the auction is yet to be confirm, but it will take place in Dubai, as per report.

      Deadline for Teams to Announce Retain and Release players for the IPL 2024

      All Teams have until 15th November, 2023, to submit their lists of players they intend to retain and release.

      After this date, the auction pool will be finalise.

      Teams Budget for the IPL 2024 Auction

      Each team will have a budget of INR 100 crore to build their squad for the upcoming season.

      This represents a 5 crore increase from the previous season’s budget of INR 95 crore.

      The final budget for each team in the auction will depend on their decisions regarding player retention and release.

      Where IPL 2024 be held?

      As the IPL 2024 auction is set to take place in Dubai, it is likely that the season itself may still be host in India, despite the concurrent Lok Sabha elections that are expect to take place during the IPL window.
