Majority of People could Lose their Jobs to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Next Ten Years | RRD’s Opinion

As time passes by and we approach to 2024, many people are realising the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and are learning how to use them in their daily life. It may be content writers or corporate employees with deadlines, AI seems to be slowly becoming a part of our lives.

Tools like ChatGPT, Google Bard and Microsoft Bing, we can do things we never could before and companies are experimenting with their own AI chatbots as well.

But, a question that still in people’s mind is, will Artificial Intelligence replace them at their job completely some day or other?

A lot has said about this already and while one section of people believe that Artificial Intelligence will indeed have an impact on the job market, others are more optimistic and feel that it is only going to help humans get better at their jobs but will never fully replace a human being.

Amdocs Software Test Team Lead, Parampreet Singh, however, belongs to the corporate category and feels that around 60% to 70% of people’s jobs are in danger due to Artificial Intelligence.

In a conversation with RRD, a senior journalist in 2YoDoINDIA, Mr Singh. said that at the moment, we are not ‘realising the risk of Artificial Intelligence’.

He said that he is confident about 60% to 70% people losing their jobs in the next 10 years.

      Parampreet Singh Said :

“We are not realising the risk of AI. I can tell you with confidence that 60% to 70% of people, who have jobs right now may not have their jobs after 10 years from now,”.

As some people have also argue that by upskilling and learning how to master the use of AI, they can keep their jobs.

But Mr Singh share some other aspect or other side of the coin.

He feels that it isn’t possible for humans to upskill so quickly and that it is going to be a ‘real challenge‘ unless someone is a ‘very curious and interested person‘.

      Parampreet Singh Said :

“The time to upskill is going to be a real challenge. Unless you are a very curious compounding person, everybody’s job is at risk,”.

Mr Singh also talk about the role of ChatGPT and other AI tools in the IT Industry.

      Parampreet Singh Said :

“Mostly IT workers are impress by ChatGPT’s work. But some say the quality of work produce by ChatGPT is excellent, while some say it’s very good.”

“As ChatGPT and all these other new technology is just growing up in the workplace, IT workers need to be thinking of how it may affect the responsibilities of their current job and how can we use these tools in such a manner, so as the result act like a supplement for them”

      RRD’s Opinion

Rahul Ram Dwivedi has also talk about jobs going away due to AI.

In an interview with Mr. Singh, He said that AI’s impact on human will not be all positive.

RRD said that even though many people who are working on AI ‘show‘ that it is only going to be for the good of humans, they act like a helper for them, and won’t replace anyone at their jobs.

But, that is not the case.
