Uttar Pradesh Premier League, the first-ever T20 league organise by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association will be play from 30th August 2023 to 16th September 2023. This tournament marks the rise of domestic intra-state T20 leagues in India, with at least 10 other states having their own domestic tournaments.

Six franchises will be in action, Varanasi, Meerut, Noida, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Kanpur being represent.
Venue of UPPL 2023
Every game of the 18-day tournament will be play in Kanpur, at the Green Park Stadium.
All games will be day-night matches.
Team Owners of UPPL 2023
The franchise auctions were held on 16th August 2023 in Lucknow.
As per reports, there were eight interested bidders but one was disqualified for lacking cricketing experience.
The base price to purchase the six teams was INR 5 crores.
Kanpur team was bought by VCORP Flavours Private Limited for Rs. 7.2 crores and Lucknow was bought by Ekana Sportz City and G.C. Construction and Development for Rs. 6 crores.
While Varanasi was acquire for Rs. 6.5 crores, Meerut was bought by Team Aviation for Rs. 5.5 crores.
The other two teams, Gorakhpur and Noida were bought for Rs. 6 crores each.

Auctions of UPPL 2023
The player auctions for the tournament will be held on 20th August 2023.
Every team will have a budget of Rs. 1 crore to build their team.
In the players auction, cricketers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rinku Singh, Shivam Mavi, Priyam Garg, Kartik Tyagi, Mohsin Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Karan Sharma are expect to be sold like hot property as their experience of playing in the Indian Premier League for the last many years would give them an edge.
Broadcast Details of UPPL 2023
The official broadcast details are not reveal, but as per sources, Viacom18 could hold exclusive media rights.

30 Ex-Cricketers shortlist for UPPL
Uttar Pradesh Premier League (UPPL) is all set to give opportunities to many former cricketers of the state to earn money as well as a reputation as the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has identified 30 former cricketers for various jobs.
Among the 30, many have already earn coaching certificates from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
A few others have the coaching experience of many teams, including the Ranji Trophy side.
The six-team franchise event will also give opportunities to homegrown people like physios, yoga experts, masseurs and other to work with the teams.
A team will have five out of these 30 former cricketers as coach, assistant coach, batting coach, bowling coach and fielding coach.
As per the official, former cricketers like Gopal Sharma, Rahul Sapru, Gyanendra Pandey, Rizwan Shamshad, Ashish Winston Zaidi, Satish Kesarwani, Obaid Kamal, Moosi Raza and many others have shortlisted for the jobs of mentors, coaches and other positions.
Many former junior India stars would be rope in for the teams.
Suresh Raina has also agreed to be the ‘Brand Ambassador’ of the UPPL.
