      BCCI Announced Invitation to Tender for Media Rights for International and Domestic Matches | Details Inside

      The BCCI invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the media rights for the BCCI International and Domestic Matches. The detail terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, process for submissions of bids, rights and obligations and other are contain in the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (ITT) which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 15,00,000 plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax.

      The ITT will be available for purchase till 25th August, 2023. 

      Also Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the release of Invitation to Tender for Title Sponsor Rights for BCCI Events.

      The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has for the first time, set a higher base price for digital rights compare to television and has lower the base price to Rs 45 crore per match for the upcoming media rights cycle for the next five years (2023-28).

      The media rights tender has already been float for the purpose of covering 88 matches with a overall base price coming to Rs 3,960 crore.

      As per the tender release by BCCI, the board has set a base price of Rs 20 crore per match for Package A, which comprises of the TV rights for the Indian subcontinent.

      While package B comprises of global digital rights and rest of the world TV rights.

      This has a base price of Rs 25 crore per match.

      As per experts, the base price has reduce to allow maximum participation from all the key palyers in the markets, considering the challenges face by certain media companies.

      Disney Star, Viacom 18 and Sony Pictures Networks India are expect to participate in both the TV and the digital rights e-auction which will commence on 31st August 2023.

      BCCI have lower the base price and has set a threshold of Rs 60 crore per match, Rs 5,280 crore for the 88 matches.

      If the consolidate bids fall below Rs 60 crore per match, the BCCI reserves the right to cancel the tender process.

      According to experts, the value of digital rights for Indian cricket will surpass TV rights by a sizeable margin.

      A top official of a Media company on condition anonymity, said that the reduction in the base price doesn’t mean that overall value will fall.

      As per official :

      “The Rs 60 crore per match threshold set by the BCCI is easily achievable. The BCCI media rights value can easily touch Rs 9,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore, which is more than Rs 100 crore per match,”.
