      Cricket World Cup 2023 : Full Schedule of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Announced | Details Inside

      International Cricket Council (ICC), announce the schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023 in an event in Mumbai. As per the schedule, the tournament will begin on 5th October 2023 in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

      The 45 league matches and the three knockouts will be play in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune over a span of 46 days.

      The India vs Pakistan battle has been schedule to be held on 15th October 2023 in Ahmedabad.

      The Indian cricket team will begin its campaign against Australia on 8th October 2023 in Chennai.

      The final of the tournament will be held in Ahmedabad on 19th November 2023.

      A total of 10 teams will participate in World Cup 2023.

      A total of eight teams have already qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League while two are yet to be decide.

      The final two spots will be determine at the end of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe that concludes on 9th July 2023.

      As for the main round, each team plays the other 9 teams in a round-robin format with the top four qualifying for the semi-finals.

      The opening match will see last edition’s finalists, England and New Zealand get the tournament underway.

      While the India and Pakistan encounter is arguably the biggest from the schedule in the round-robin stage, Australia’s face-off with South Africa on 13th October 2023 in Lucknow.

      Pakistan will face Australia in Bengaluru on 20th October 2023 and England have schedule to take on South Africa the next day in Mumbai.

      India will play against New Zealand on 22nd October 2023 at Dharamsala and Australia are to face England on 4th November 2023 in Ahmedabad.

      As mention above 2023 men’s ODI World Cup will begin on 5th October 2023 in Ahmedabad, and matches will be held across ten venues, and culminate in the final, also in Ahmedabad on 19th November 2023.

      The semi-finals will be held in Mumbai and Kolkata on 15th and 16th November 2023.

      The two semi-finals and the final will all have reserve days.

      If India qualify for the semi-finals, their knockout game will be held in Mumbai.

      Unless their opposition is Pakistan, in which case the game will be play in Kolkata.

      The format will be the same as it was in 2019, with ten teams playing each other once in the league phase and the top four qualifying for the semi-finals.

      India qualified for the event as hosts and Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa made it by finishing in the top eight of the 2020-2023 World Cup Super League.

      The remaining two teams will be coming from the ongoing World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe, which is being contest by Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE, USA and Zimbabwe.

      India play Afghanistan in Delhi on 11th October 2023, Pakistan in Ahmedabad on 15th October 2023, Bangladesh in Pune on 19th October 2023, New Zealand in Dharamsala on 22nd October 2023, England in Lucknow on 29th October 2023, and qualifier in Mumbai on 2nd November 2023, South Africa in Kolkata on 5th November 2023, and another qualifier in Bengaluru on 11th November 2023, which is the penultimate day of the league stage.

      India travel the most among the ten teams, playing at nine of the ten venues during the league phase.

      Most other teams play their nine league matches across most of the ten venues, Australia are playing at eight venues, Pakistan are playing in only five cities, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.

      The league phase concludes on 12th November 2023, with England playing Pakistan in Kolkata and Australia taking on Bangladesh in Pune.

      New Zealand play three matches in the south of India against a qualifier in Hyderabad on 9th October 2023, Bangladesh in Chennai on 14th October 2023, and Afghanistan in Chennai on 18th October 2023 before travelling far north to play two matches in Dharamsala, against India on 22nd October 2023 and Australia on 28th October 2023.

      Their last three league matches are against South Africa in Pune on 1st November 2023, Pakistan in Bengaluru on 4th November 2023 and the other qualifier in Bengaluru on 9th November 2023.

      South Africa begin their campaign playing in Delhi on 8th October 2023, Australia in Lucknow on 13th October 2023, and the other qualifier in Dharamsala on 17th October 2023.

      After they travel to Mumbai to play England on 21st October 2023 and Bangladesh on 24th October 2023, Pakistan in Chennai on 27h October 2023.

      Their last three league games are against New Zealand in Pune on 1st November 2023, India in Kolkata on 5th November 2023, and against Afghanistan in Ahmedabad on 10th November 2023.

      While Bangladesh’s World Cup starts with two games in Dharamsala against Afghanistan on 7th October 2023 and England on 10th October 2023.

      They then play New Zealand in Bangalore on 14th October 2023, India in Pune on 19th October 2023, South Africa in Mumbai on 24th October 2023, then to Kolkata to play a qualifier on 28th October 2023 and Pakistan on 31st October 2023.

      Bangladesh’s last two league games are against the other qualifier in Delhi on 6th November 2023, and Australia in Pune on 12th November 2023.

      And Afghanistan start against Bangladesh in Dharamsala on 7th October 2023, India and England in Delhi on 11th October 2023 and 14th October 2023 respectivly, New Zealand and Pakistan in Chennai on 18th October 2023 and 23rd October 2023, then in Pune to play a qualifier on 30th October 2023.

      Afghanistan’s last three league games are against the other qualifier in Lucknow on 3rd November 2023, Australia in Mumbai on 7th November 2023 and South Africa in Ahmedabad on 10th November 2023.

      Before the tournament all teams will play warm-up matches in Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati between 29th September 2023 and 3rd October 2023.

      Important Points To Note:

      • If the West Indies qualify, they will be Q1 irrespective of where they finish in the Qualifiers
      • If Sri Lanka qualify, they will be Q2 irrespective of where they finish in the Qualifiers
      • If Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play in Kolkata
      • If India qualify for the semifinals, they will play in Mumbai unless playing against Pakistan, in which case they will play in Kolkata
