As per reports, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had an in-depth discussion with Rahul Dravid over his role as Team India coach recently and the BCCI is incline to have a new person at the top with the 2024 T20 World Cup in mind.
BCCI want VVS Laxman, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director, as India’s new coach.
Rahul Dravid’s two-year contract as India coach came to an end with India’s heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final on 19th November 2023.
There’s no official news since then if Rahul Dravid will continue or not.

There was also reports that BCCI was happy with Rahul Dravid’s tenure in which India reach the finals of the World Test Championship and World Cup besides winning the Asia Cup 2023.
VVS Laxman is favourite to succeed Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach.

VVS Laxman is currently with Team India as acting coach for the ongoing T20I series against Australia.
While Rahul Dravid is set to vacate his position as the head coach of the Indian men’s team.
Rahul Dravid, whose tenure was over with the conclusion of the ODI World Cup 2023, does not seem keen to renew his contract, as per reports.
The former India captain is expect to join Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 season.
As per reports, Rahul Dravid did not want to continue and is already in talks with LSG.
It seems if he doesn’t continue with national team he might go to LSG as a mentor.
